Grant Park Real Estate Grant Park-An Atlanta Neighborhood With Heart

Grant Park is a charming historic district in Southeast Atlanta, and the city’s largest. The centerpiece of the neighborhood is Zoo Atlanta and the Cyclorama & Civil War Museum, which welcomes more than two million visitors a year. The 131-acre park which houses the zoo but can also be used for more simple pleasures, such as picnicking and throwing Frisbee, is well-loved for it’s large shade trees, walking trails, and its quieter and more relaxing atmosphere (compared to Atlanta’s other large city parks).

The park is framed by the second largest collection of Victorian Mansions in the city (the largest collection belonging in Inman Park). Other popular home styles include Queen Anne and Craftsman Bungalows. Homes in the neighborhood range from under $100k for an investment property upwards to $700k for a restored Victorian home.

On Sundays, residents and visitors alike enjoy the Grant Park Farmers Market where you can walk around and pick-up locally grown healthy food. Additionally, every summer the neighborhood hosts the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival, featuring live entertainment, an artist market, a 5k run, and of course, delicious food. Speaking of food, while in town, don’t miss the popular seafood restaurant, Six Feet Under (appropriately named for its location across from Oakland Cemetery), or the restaurant that has received the “Best Pancakes” superlative : Ria’s Bluebird. After filling up on some grub, walk on over to Turner Field and catch a ball game! Enjoy!
